Hey Alanf -
Sounds like one heck of a trip! I'm so jealous... I've always been intrigued by the Edelweiss tours, but never done one. Sounds very cool.

Hey Mike -

Photos Jonna and I made both the Edelweiss web site and their calendar. In their calendar, they incorrectly identify the photo as being from the Valley of the Temples in Sicily when the group photo was actually from Pompeii.

Thanks for noticing we were in the photo. We'll have to see if any photos from our recent Andalucia tour show up anywhere!

Hey Jeff -

The R1200GS was a great bike. I'm not sure I believe BMW's claim that it makes more power but you can immediately feel that its lighter. That means it *seems* more powerful when you crank on the throttle. The front end on the GS I was riding felt pretty stiff but I think it was specific to the bike (it has done a tour in Morocco before this trip in Spain) rather than a general problem with the bike.

While I thoroughly enjoyed riding the new GS, it doesn't different enough from my R1150GS to justify the upgrade cost.

Still, another advantage of the Edelweiss tours is that I was able to get in two weeks of "test riding" on the R1200GS which I wouldn't normally have been able to do.
